The story of Airovation Technologies began back in 2013, rooted in a vision to save lives. Our founder, Lt. Col. (Ret.) Marat Maayan, drew from his 27 years of distinguished service in the IDF's elite Yahalom unit to tackle a critical challenge facing public safety: protecting people from smoke inhalation in burning buildings.
His initial concept was revolutionary yet straightforward - to create a safety room that could convert deadly smoke into breathable air. This wasn't just an abstract idea; it was born from a sobering reality that many fire-related casualties occur due to oxygen deficiency and high concentrations of carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide in enclosed spaces.
Airovation's breakthrough came in 2017 through a collaboration with Prof. Yoel Sasson from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Together, we developed a groundbreaking technology capable of capturing carbon dioxide and converting it into a solid mineral structure. This achievement sparked a realization that would transform our company's trajectory: we could apply this technology to address one of the world's most pressing challenges - industrial carbon emissions.
Today, Airovation Technologies stands at the forefront of carbon capture innovation. Our technology has evolved to convert industrial carbon dioxide emissions into valuable products that serve the concrete, plastic, paper, and metal manufacturing industries. What started as a mission to save lives in burning buildings has grown into a global solution for industrial sustainability.
The journey continues, and we're just getting started.
